Shock and awe: Kelburne win Cup after scoring 2 seconds from time.
Kelburne could have had the game sewn up by half time after some fantastic hockey and an Alan Forsyth goal 15 minutes in. But Grange - under a lot of pressure - came close to scoring themselves on at least a couple of occasions and stuck to the task at hand.
The second half saw Grange come into the game a lot more and they got their vital equaliser thanks to a Fraser Sands penalty corner. With the clock ticking down fast, Kelburne seemed to spend most of their time in Grange's 23, but just couldn't get that final pass through.
But, they kept at it, right up to the very last minute! In that last minute alone they mounted three attacks on the opposition D. With TWO seconds to go the ball was crossed from the left just inside the 23 towards the far post - and Alan Forsyth met it brilliantly to deflect it past the Grange keeper!
By the time the that white ball had hit the net and dropped down, the klaxon horn had sounded the final whistle! Game over and Kelburne lifted the Scottish Cup in the most dramatic and unbelievable circumstances!
See the action! See that goal! Witness the total joy and complete despair that ended a great day's hockey - ALL of it right HERE!
